Finish Your Tracks: Gain Staging & Mixing for Release & Club-Ready Sound
04/13 Monday (7–11pm), we're hosting weekly 3–4 hour workshop focused on helping producers actually finish their tracks.
This session is a deep dive into gain staging and mixing for minimal house, techno, and dance music - built for release and real sound systems. You’ll learn how to create clean, powerful, balanced mixes from the very beginning, so your track already feels right while you’re writing it - not just at the end.
We’ll cover how to set reliable mix anchor points, apply best practices for EQ on individual tracks and groups, and use clipping, compression, and limiting in a way that works together - not against itself. The goal is a simple, dependable mix architecture you can rely on every time for consistent, high-quality results.
We’ll also go through practical, repeatable approaches (including template ideas) that keep you in the creative flow while building toward a professional final product.
Open to beginners and intermediate producers - these fundamentals apply across all dance music.
We’ll also make time to address your individual challenges, so bring whatever you’re stuck on.
If you’re serious about finishing stronger, better-sounding tracks, this is for you.

About Mentor
Daniel Merrill, known as A Path Untold, is a veteran electronic music producer, DJ, performer, and mentor with 25+ years of experience across the spectrum of electronic music. He's known for his boldly unique style that work blends organic and cinematic textures with modern club forms - spanning house, techno, breaks, garage, drum n' bass, idm, downtempo, ambient, and beyond - creating emotionally rich, immersive worlds that balance contrast: intimate yet expansive, melancholic yet euphoric.
He has released dance music extensively on labels including Valence (alongside Carl Craig), Resueno, Timewheel, Aleph Zero, and many more, and also works extensively in sync through Epidemic Sound, composing for film and media worldwide.
His performance history includes DJ residencies alongside DJ Qbert and The Gaslamp Killer, and sharing stages with artists such as Tipper, Max Cooper, Aes Dana, Richie Hawtin, and many more.
For over a decade, Daniel has mentored producers at all levels through private coaching, group workshops, and educational institutions. An avid, daily Ableton Live user since its inception at V1.0 (in 2001) and a certified creativity coach, he bridges technical mastery with cultivating creative mindset, workflow and artistic clarity.
At the core of his teaching is a simple mission: helping developing producers build their signature sound through a creative process they trust - so they can translate their deeper vision into a distinct, authentic voice and share their music with the world.
